A Pelvic Health Physio is a Physiotherapist who has completed advanced training in assessment, diagnose and conservative management of pelvic floor and pelvic health conditions.
I'm a qualified Physiotherapist with a Bachelor in Physiotherapy from La Trobe University. I have completed further studies and hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Continence and Pelvic Health from The University of Melbourne as well as Post Graduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from La Trobe University. I am a registered member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and hold current AHPRA registration.
These qualifications allow me to call myself a “Pelvic Health Physiotherapist”.

No problem. We can go ahead with the appointment as planned even with your period. It is fine to have an assessment done while you have your period although some people choose not to have an internal assessment and that is absolutely fine. I have a real time ultrasound machine which I can use as an alternative to an internal pelvic floor examination.
-
No. You do not HAVE to have any form of assessment. All assessments will be discussed with you on the day of your appointment and together you and I will decide on what assessment is most appropriate. I would never expect you to agree to any form of assessment or treatment that you are not comfortable with.
I have a real time ultrasound machine which I use to assess the pelvic floor and this can be done without having to take any clothes off and by putting the ultrasound head on your lower tummy.
